ZOYA: Paloma

It's Wednesday, so the week is half over! I hope everyone is having a good week, and that it's warm and sunny where you are. We had a bit of snow today, but not too bad.

About a month ago, I placed an order with ZOYA when they were having that special: pay $15 shipping, and get 3 regular shades, plus 3 surprise minis. I finally got mine a couple days ago, and I was very excited. The first color I tried was Paloma, a berry jelly. I used 3 coats in the photo below.

ZOYA: Paloma

The formula for Paloma gave me no issues whatsoever during application. The first coat was very sheer, but I was able to build a bit of opacity by the 3rd coat. I didn't care very much for the brush. I felt that it didn't hold very much polish. I wish it'd been a bit larger, just to deliver enough polish to cover my nails. Dry time was a little slow, as is my experience with jellies.

Overall, I love *almost* everything about ZOYA Paloma. The color is perfect, it's very shiny, and just looks great. My only problem with it (and jellies in general) is that it peeled off less than 24 hours later. It's okay because I change my nail color quite regularly, but it's not okay if it happens during the day, when I'm out and about. That's more of a chemistry issue between my nails and jellies than jellies themselves. I just needed to rant a little lol.

My nails are square in this picture, but I have since changed my nail shape. As I mentioned last time, my nails have been breaking like crazy, especially at the corners. I didn't think twice, just grabbed my nail file and filed away. My nails are now round. I hope they they are easier to maintain, because I'm really liking this shape!

Has a nail shape ever proven to be difficult to maintain? Did you keep it because you liked it, or did you change it to avoid damaging your nails? Let me know!
