Practice Really Does Make Perfect: New York Color Park Ave

Hey guys! I wanted to share an old manicure. It was one of those days, before I learned anything about nail polish and nail care.

I bought Park Ave about a year ago and rarely used it. Then I decided to use it in February. I think it was because I wanted to take a picture and send it to my grandma, who LOVES nail polish and I don't think I've ever seen her with naked nails. She is one of the reasons I grew to love nail polish.

Here is a picture of that manicure.

I didn't use a base coat. Didn't use a top coat. There was no cleanup. My cuticles were dry, though I blame that on the ridiculously dry winter in Kansas. It's ugly, I know.

Now, this is what I did today. I've improved, haven't I?

New York Color Quick Dry Park Ave
3 coats of Park Ave

Like the other polishes in the Quick Dry line, the brush is a little wide for easy application. The polish itself, however, was not the best. I don't know if it's just my batch, but it was runny and difficult to work with. The first coat was streaky. It was opaque by the second coat, but it still looked streaky, so I added a third. It took a while to dry - that might be because of the runny formula though.

I do like the color. It's like a cross between mauve/taupe and it's pretty neutral, I think.

Overall, I think it's okay.

Can you see the difference between old manicures and new ones? Are you proud of the progress you've made since then? What nail polishes have you found it difficult to work with? Let me know!
