Spoiled by Wet n Wild: 2 Weeks Sober

Hi all! It's been a few days since I last posted. I've been a bit busy. I started a new job yesterday as an assistant/translator at a doctor's office, and I'm really excited about it! I used SinfulColors Vacation Time, a pastel pink creme, for my first day. I didn't get a picture of it because I did it in a hurry. It didn't self-level and I skipped my top coat, so it just didn't look pretty.

Today, I decided to go with a color I hadn't tried yet, 2 Weeks Sober from Spoiled by Wet n Wild. It is a French lilac creme. I figured it's office-friendly and a good fall shade.

I liked the formula for 2 Weeks Sober. One coat was pretty opaque, but I did a second coat and it was perfect. The Spoiled polishes have a wide brush that is very similar to the Wet n Wild Megalast manicurve brushes. I did notice that it was a little stiff. I had to be gentle when applying the second coat, or else the bristles kind of dragged through. Drying time was average.

Overall, I like 2 Weeks Sober. I don't think it's one of those colors that looks super well with my skin tone, but I like the color, so I'll definitely keep using it.

I'm pretty excited about my new job, especially the translating part. Having grown up in L.A with a traditional Mexican mother, I have a skill that is pretty marketable in Kansas. There aren't too many bilingual (English/Spanish) speakers, so it's exciting that I can do this.

The atmosphere at the office seems pretty casual. There's a dress code, but it's not über conservative. Everyone's pretty laid-back, so I'm thinking about changing my nail color somewhat often. I'll start off with cremes/jellies, but I can't wait to use colors with a little more going on, like the FingerPaints Masquerade Affair collection. I think my faves are Ball Gown Glamour and Queen for a Night, but I do love all four!

Are you allowed to wear nail polish where you work? What did you wear for your first day? Do the colors have to be neutral, or are you allowed to be a little creative, show a little more personality? Let me know!
