New York Color: Sweet Melon (Summer 2014 City Samba Collection)

Hi all! Time to celebrate, because it's Friday! I do work tomorrow, but Chris and I are going to a meeting at Sporting Park for the members of the Cauldron right after I get out. I'm really excited, because I love Sporting and because it'll be a chance for me to be social!

On a recent trip to my local Dollar Tree, I found something I had looked for, but never found. I stumbled upon Sweet Melon from New York Color's limited edition summer collection. (I also found Copabanana and Jacaranda Flower, but I'll try those another time).

Sweet Melon is an orange-peachy color with a microshimmer finish. I used 2 coats in the photo below.

Sweet Melon's formula gave me some issues. The first coat was streaky and didn't self level. I applied a pretty thin coat, so maybe that contributed a bit to the unevenness. The second coat helped a little more, but it still didn't entirely self-level (you might be able to tell on my ring finger). My pinky looks the best, but that's probably because the second coat is a little thicker (I always end up applying a little more than I intend). Dry time was fast.

Overall, I do like Sweet Melon. The formula wasn't the greatest I've ever used, but it wasn't impossible to apply. I'm still a little iffy on how it looks on me because of my skin tone, but I think it works!
