FingerPaints: Are You Gogh-ing My Way?

Hi all! I have a new post for you today. I took a little trip to Sally Beauty today to see if they had any good nail polishes on clearance, but I saw nothing that piqued my interest. However, I did take a look at the FingerPaints display and I fell in love with Are You Gogh-ing My Way? by FingerPaints.

It was Monet Money again. I had to have it, since I LOVE Vincent van Gogh. I've loved his art since the 4th grade, and his tragic life story always struck me. I've been watching Doctor Who for a while now and one of my favorite episodes is Vincent and the Doctor. (I liked Amy in this episode, though I'm generally NOT a fan.) Anyway, I saw this color and it seemed to be a perfect fall shade.

Are You Gogh-ing My Way? is a lovely China rose creme. I used two coats.

The formula for Are You Gogh-ing My Way? was decent. One coat was nearly opaque, but 2 gave full opacity. As I've stated before, I am fond of the FingerPaints brushes. They are long, not too wide, and I rarely have to use more than 3 strokes per nail. Dry time was a little slow, although that may have been my fault. I think I applied coats that were sightly thicker than they should have been.

I applied my top coat, NYC Grand Central Station, and now I have bubbles. I can't figure out if my polish coats were too thick, or if my coat of GCS was too thick. Either way, the bubbles are there, so something went a little wrong. I seem to be having a difficult night overall. I managed to smudge both middle fingers), and I had an incredibly difficult time getting a good picture. I think it might be a little past my bedtime.

I forgot to mention last time that it's been a year since I moved to Kansas. It seems as though time flew. Doesn't feel like a year. One of the things I miss most from home is going to the Norton Simon Museum and the Getty Center. I used to go the Norton Simon regularly just to see my favorite paintings by Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, and Rembrandt. Aaaand I just realized that Kansas City is home to the Nelson-Atkins Museum. I have not been there, and I am slightly horrified. It is now on my to-do list!

Are you an art fan? Have you tried to recreate any famous paintings on your nails? Let me know!
