Hi all! I have some new nail art for you today! I'd been wanting to try UCLA nail art for some time now, but I was a little intimidated. I finally got around to it today, since we played -and beat- Cal today! (I went to ONE football game when I was a student. I cared more about soccer back then.) Well, I started last night and I almost gave up, but the idea of giving up was far worse than trying and getting it wrong.
This is the final result. It's not too terrible, right?
I used the following colors for my UCLA nail art.
SinfulColors Twilight Twinkles and Let's Meet
NYC Quick Dry Crown Gold
NYC Long Wearing Enamel Boat Basin
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Cinnamon
Wet n Wild French White Creme.
Here is the breakdown for each finger.
Pinky: 2 coats Boat Basin, 1 coat of Twilight Twinkles.
Ring: 2 coats of Crown Gold, followed by painters tape and Boat Basin.
Middle: 2 coats Boat Basin followed by Let's Meet, French White Creme, and Boat Basin for the Bruin bear.
Index: 2 coats Cinnamon, French White Creme with a small brush for the football.
Thumb: 2 coats Boat Basin, Crown Gold with a bobby pin for UCLA.
The hardest to do were my index and ring fingers. I could not get the lines right for the football, and my middle finger ended up looking like a disgusting blob of colors. All I needed was a little patience.
I find it a little silly that I do not have any proper nail art tools. I have no dotters or special brushes. I used random little brushes, bobby pin, and dental floss (the kind with the point tip). I finally ordered a nail art kit from Amazon last night, and I hope it'll arrive this upcoming week.
Have you ever tried nail art that seemed impossible to do? Did you give up, or were you able to complete your look? Let me know!
